About the event

Join Hannah Jackson Matthews for a workshop on the impact of Black history on Black transracial adoptee identity. During this workshop, Matthews examines the "infamous" 1972 National Association of Black Social Workers position statement on transracial adoption to discern all we can learn from their stance and analyze whose needs it protects. "For Your Protection" is a call to reflect on the ways in which racial defensiveness against consistently uncomfy history can shield us from receiving its important messages.
