Transracial Adoptee Mentorship

Service Description

The Hey TRA Mentorship Program is an individual mentorship relationship between Hannah Matthews, a bi-racial adult transracial adoptee, and your TRA. This program is designed for BBIPOC TRAs (Black, Brown, Indigenous, young persons of color ages 7-13.) This mentorship is mentee-facing and adoptee empowering; furthermore, it is guided and directed by the goals and desires of the trans-racial adoptee first. The Hey TRA Mentorship Program has two major goals: (1) to help the TRA love themselves in their racial and cultural identities and their adoptive identities, and (2) to coach the TRA through the challenges of identity development, racism, and white supremacy on a interpersonal and systemic level. The Hey TRA Mentorship Program begins with an initial intake and initial parent progress meeting (free of charge within the 14 day trial) in which Hannah gets to know your TRA and understand their goals (these goals may be a simple or complex and will vary based on the TRAs age and development). After the intake, Hannah will follow-up with parents, in what will be a monthly parent-progress meeting. These meetings are only 30 minutes long, and are a designated where Hannah guides adoptive families in how to best support the goals of their child, and also hear any concerns or field any questions. Lastly, Hannah will schedule bi-weekly video chat or in-person mentorship session. During these sessions, Hannah will be guided your transracially adopted child through their individualized mentorship plan.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. I do offer one grace cancelation for emergencies; however, if last minute/day of cancelations become a pattern of behavior you will charged the full price and not eligible for a full or partial refund of your cancelled service.
